A Breakdown of the US Regions 

Western US: Contains both desert and mountain terrain. Typically warmer weather with little to no humidity but certain parts can get very cold. 

Southwestern US: Contains both desert and mountain terrain. Typically very warm weather with little to no humidity. 

Midwestern US: Humid summers with cold winters. Known for large, open land, plains, and rolling fields.  

Southeastern US: Very humid summers with milder winters. Known for beaches as well as open lands and mountains depending on the part.

Northeastern US: Humid climate with cooler summers (sometimes) and harsh winters. Contains both beach and mountain terrain.
